An Ordered World

A few summers ago, I arrived home from vacation to find my house in total disarray, and a similarly chaotic scene greeted me the next day at work. As I strove to organize and clean these spaces during that week, I came to the realization that I am primarily an order-bringer in my environment. Everywhere I go, I have the almost compulsive need to order things in the way I like, as my parents, who watched me line up my toys every day as a child, can attest. Therefore, it makes perfect sense that my photography would function as one more way I can organize the world. My goal in this series is to invite the viewer into my vision, to consider an Ordered World where every building, tree, and street exists in a serene, spiritual calm—a truly beautiful sight. This may be too much of an idealistic view, but I like to think of it as a counter to the pain and weariness of day to day life. The truth of our world is undoubtedly somewhere in the middle of these two notions, but in this moment, may the Ordered World bring you joy and uplift your spirit, as it does for me.
