I may never have another year like 2022. Although it began slowly, before I knew it I was caught up in a whirlwind of life changes, from deepening relationships with friends and my partner to increasing responsibilities in several different workplaces. My photography began to reflect mature changes as well, as I became even more committed to making serene, perfectly ordered photographs of the world around me. With a medium format camera that fit my style, I allowed my work to be influenced by the photos of formalist photographers like Joel Sternfeld and Stephen Shore. The way these individuals could bring light, color, and human-made objects into their landscapes inspired me, and I sought to approach my subjects with the same level of intention and skill. I know that I have not achieved this level of success, but I stand by these photos as many of the finest images I have taken, a body of work to be truly proud of and to continue to build on!
